Geography

Gammelshausen is situated in 385-722 meters altitude at the escarpment, about nine kilometers south of the county town of Göppingen. The highest point of the municipality lies on the Sielenwang.

History

The name is due to an earlier Alamannic clan leader Gamold. From the former Gamoltzhusen the present Gammelshausen developed.
