Gamprin

Gamprin ( dialect: Gamprii ) is a municipality in the constituency lowlands of the Principality of Liechtenstein. Gamprin has an exclave, making it a two-tier municipality. Together with the place Bendern forms Gamprin a double municipality in the lower Liechtenstein. It is located west of Eschnerberg in the hills.

Coat of arms

Gamprin to 1950 had neither its own, recognized emblem nor a community flag, or municipality colors. In the country's celebration of that year, all communities should present. Gamprin resorted to of necessity with the unrecognized crest. The coat of arms at that time comprised the symbols of Bendener Church; concretely the steps of the former church roof and tower. Decided in 1957, the municipal council for it to set up a Commission to stop by this transitional solution. The Commission was given the task to design an approved coat of arms for the municipality Gamprin -Bendern, and work out the corresponding municipality colors and banner. The Commission worked intensively on the subject. As the basis and guiding principle was the old name Gamprins - campus rhenium, which literally means, such as field on the Rhine. The golden wave band, which the current coat of arms (see coat of arms on the right) runs through, reminiscent of the situation Gamprins on the Rhine. In the coat of arms but should be reflected also the historically significant village part Bendern. From the crest of the Knight Rüdiger von Limbach, the owner of The Old Rectory and vast estates, the two roses were included in the coat of arms. The Commission's proposal took place after heraldic spread the approval of the council.
