Ganslernhang

The Ganslernhang (or short goose learning ) is a ski slope in Kitzbühel in Austria, on which the slalom of the Hahnenkamm race is held. The slope has numerous terrain transitions and obliquely sloping, making it one of the most demanding slalom slopes in alpine World Cup. It is located next to the target shot of the strip, but has its own target Stadium. The name of the goose learning slope comes from a farm that stood there until 1993 and its designation from flowing past Gänsbach has.

For the first time the Hahnenkamm slalom in 1937 was driven on the goose learning. Prior to the introduction of the World Cup 1967 he was one of the fixed points of the annual racing calendar of the FIS. In the years 1964, 1988 and 1993, the slalom was canceled. In 1998 there were - as in 1971 - an additional slalom in Kitzbuehel, due to the snow conditions, the two races this year but were performed on a modified route: She led by the so called front goose learning and the target profit of departure in the finish area. 2007 and 2008 this route was chosen due to the larger seating capacity also. 2009 we returned to the traditional Ganslernhang. Also in 1954, the slalom was performed in front goose learning.

Record winner on the Ganslernhang is Ingemar Stenmark, who won five slaloms here.
