Gao Shuying

Gao Shuying (Chinese高 淑英, Gao Shuying Pinyin; born October 28, 1979 in Qingdao) is a Chinese pole vaulter.

At the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, she was ten. The following year she was fifth at the World Athletics Championships in Edmonton and won gold at the Universiade.

In 2002 she was Asian champion, fourth at the IAAF World Cup and won gold at the Asian Games in Busan, 2003, she finished ninth at the World Championships in Paris / Saint / Denis, and in 2004 she was disqualified at the Olympics in Athens in the qualifier.

In the following season they finished fifth at the World Championships in Helsinki and defended her title at the Asian Cup. In 2006, she finished third at the World Cup and won another Gold medal at the Asian Games in Doha. A Vorrundenaus at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka in 2008 was followed by a twelfth place finish at the Beijing Olympics.

At the World Championships in Berlin in 2009 she left without a valid attempt.

Gao Shuying is 1,79 m tall and weighs 66 kg. She is trained by Shi Meichuang and start for the team, the city of Shanghai.
