Rails

The Gmina Gardeja has two railway stations in the state railway line 207 Toruń ( Thorn ) and Grudziądz ( Graudenz ) with Kwidzyn ( Marienwerder ) and Malbork ( Marienburg) connects. This railway line was opened in 1882/1883. The great lakes which surrounded the former city Garnsee and soil conditions of the surrounding area of the waters left it at that time to not pass out the railway line close to the city. So the station was created two kilometers south of the city.

This station came to Poland in 1920 and was named Gardeja. He was allowed to be shared by the Germans. However, this joint use ran out in 1927, and the German Reichsbahn built on his way to Hermione village a new railway station, again two kilometers from the city center. When it was opened on 1 July 1927, he was named Garnsee (West Prussia). Because of the war the old station in 1939 came back to Germany, he then got the name Garnsee South, the new was called then Garnsee West. Even today there are still two railway stations, both of which carry the name " Gardeja ".

Between 1886 and 1979 chain in South Garnsee = Gardeja a railway line from the neighboring town Łasin ( Lessen ). And the present territory of Gmina Gardeja was from northwest to southeast of the also now disused railway line from Marienwerder ( Kwidzyn ) by Frey city ( Kisielice ) and Bischofswerder ( Biskupiec ) crossed - one of three train stations in today's municipal area.
