Garden City is a city founded in the 19th century in the western part of the U.S. state of Kansas with 26 658 inhabitants ( 2010). The city is the administrative center and capital of Finney County. It is home to the Garden City Community College and the Lee Richardson Zoo. East of Garden City lies the small town of Holcomb, scene of the quadruple murder of the Clutter family in 1959 and Truman Capote's historical novel of Cold Blood.
