The Garden City University College (German city of gardens University ) (in short: GCUC ) in Kumasi is a University College, which is the University of Cape Coast connected. The name component Garden City is the unofficial name of Kumasi. The capital of the Ashanti region is known as the city of gardens, due to their comparatively large number of parks and trees.

History

The University was founded in 2001 under the name College of Information Technology and Management Systems (School of Information Technology and Management) by Albert Acquah. Only in 2004 it gained the status of a University College by the National Accreditation Board. On a plot in Kenyase, near Kumasi, a small campus was built with 12 rooms. These premises have been equipped with modern information technology.

From October 2002 courses were offered here and assign different degrees in computer applications and hardware. In January 2004, the former training center had already fulfilled the requirements of a University College and was accredited.

Faculties

The university is already divided into two faculties. The magnification to more faculties is in preparation.

The existing faculty of Business Administration offers courses to prepare for the Bachelor's degrees in Business Administration, Statistics and Finance, and Internehmertum.

The Faculty of Information and Computertechlologie offers courses for completion of the Bachelor in Computer Science and a diploma in computer science (network management and security) at.

In planning and preparation are the Faculty of Nursing with courses in nursing, health education and physiotherapy with a bachelor's degree in nursing. The Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences will offer courses in chemistry, physics and biology. The Faculty of Electronics and Computer Engineering Department, should offer courses in electronics, computer systems development and software. The Faculties of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the Faculty of Nursing to train the first group of students already in the term 2008 /2009.
