Garden festival

An international garden show (abbreviated IGS ) is an international exhibition on the theme garden, landscape architecture, landscaping, plant breeding and garden equipment / furniture.

International Horticultural Exhibitions in Germany

In addition to federal authorities and the organizing cities today is always founded in 1993, German Federal Garden Exhibition GmbH ( DBG ) involved, behind her the Central Association of Horticultural Association ( BMA ), the Federal Association of gardening, landscaping and sports ground construction (BGL ) and the Association of German nurseries ( BdB). International Horticultural exhibitions of the Federal Republic of Germany at the Bureau International des Expositions ( BIE) in Paris and must also requested by the International Association of Producers de l' Horticulture ( AIPH ) be approved. The final decision on the implementation meets the BIE. The Floriade (Netherlands) passes through the same international approval process.

Criticism of garden shows in Germany

Garden shows are co-financed with tax revenue performance shows of the horticultural industry and their associations. Cities and municipalities expect to gain tourist attractions. Increasingly critical cost and objectives of the garden shows are discussed.
