The Lorraine TGV station is located at kilometer 281 on the LGV Est européenne, a high- speed line between Paris, Eastern France and southern Germany. He is next to Champagne -Ardenne TGV Meuse TGV and one of three stations of the LGV Est européenne. The station is located on the territory of the municipality Louvigny and is about 27 km from Metz and 37 km from Nancy. It was inaugurated on 30 May 2007 and is served by trains since 10 June 2007. The SNCF expects annually with 600,000 passengers. The location of the station was controversial. The Regional Council is planning the relocation of the breakpoint after Vandières.

Railway system

The Lorraine TGV station has four tracks, with only the two outer sidings are provided with a platform. In the two middle tracks, the trains, the station 320 km / h without slowing passed through. Transport links

Not all trains that use the LGV Est européenne, keep in Lorraine TGV. The station is currently (as of February 2010) used at between 7 und 23 clock clock of 17 TGV trains per day. Thus, there are transfer-free connections to Strasbourg, Bordeaux, Lille, Rennes and Nantes. Connections to Paris and Germany no longer exist at the time.

About seven kilometers from the railway station is the Metz- Nancy- Lorraine. However, transit passengers numbers are left for the airport in the first years after commissioning of the station behind expectations.
