At the Grand Slam win of the Welsh in the 2005 Six Nations him but Dwayne Peel was preferred. The same happened to him at the Tour of the British and Irish Lions in the same year. He came only against Argentina at the beginning to a use in an official match. After two seasons in England, he joined the 2009/10 season back to Wales for the Cardiff Blues.
