Gareth Unwin

Gareth Unwin ( born February 20, 1972 in Dusseldorf ) is a British film producer. For the film The King's Speech 2011 he won an Oscar.

Life

After the completion of studies at London's Ravensbourne College Unwin worked from mid-1990s as an assistant director on numerous television series and feature films. In 2008 he produced the television series The Gym and the year after six episodes of the series Michael Smith's Drivetime. His debut as a producer was 2009, the movie Exam - Deadly examination by director Stuart Hazeldine, which in 2010 a nomination at the British Academy Film Awards received.

2010 Unwin produced jointly with Iain Canning and Emile Sherman the film The King's Speech director Tom Hooper from. For this he won the Academy Award for Best Picture at the Academy Awards 2011. Also at the BAFTA Awards, the British Independent Film Awards and the PGA Awards, the film was excellent. Then there was a nomination for Best Film at the European Film Awards.

In 2011 he produced with Scarecrow, Fat Hamster, Chopin to Infinity, Pl.ink! , Little Postman, Magic Piano, Night Iceland and Lexdysia a series of short films, and the animated film The Flying Machine.
