Garibald II of Bavaria

Garibald II ' (also Garibaldus ) was from the year 610 to the Bavarians Duke in Bavaria. Maybe he reigned almost to the middle of the 7th century.

Life

Duke Garibald II comes from the dynasty of Agilolfinger. Due to the extremely poor source material much more is known about his reign. It is also unclear how long Garibald II reigned.

Garibald was a son of the Duke Tassilo I, whom he succeeded in office. As this was also Garibald embroiled in fights with its Slavic neighbors. He was defeated at Aguntum in East Tyrol by the Slavs and plundered the territory of the Bavarians.
