Garies

Garies is a small agricultural town in the municipality Kamiesberg, Namakwa District, Northern Cape Province in South Africa, about 110 kilometers south of Springbok, the district capital, and 146 kilometers northwest of Vanrhynsdorp. Garies is the seat of the municipal administration of Kamiesberg.

Founded in the town was in 1845. The name derives from a Khoisan term for " creeping grass ", which you will find in the area. 2011 Garies had 2,105 inhabitants.
