Garlenda

Garlenda ( in Ligurian: garlenda ) is a municipality with 1200 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the northern Italian region of Liguria. Politically it belongs to the province of Savona.

Geography

Garlenda located in the Val Lerrone, near the confluence of the river with Arroscia Lerrone. The municipality belongs to the Comunità Montana Ingauna and is about 55 kilometers from the provincial capital Savona.

According to the Italian classifications for seismic activity, the community of Zone 3 was assigned. This means that Garlenda located in a seismically inert zone.

Climate

The municipality is classified under climate category C, since the number of degree days has a value of 1362. This means that in Italy legally regulated heating season is between November 15 and March 31 for 10 hours per day.

Fiat 500 Club Italia

In Garlenda is the seat of the Fiat 500 Club Italia, the world's largest association of friends of the Nuova Fiat 500, which was built in the years 1957-1975. According to the company combines the club has 10,000 members.

Since 1984, the world's largest Fiat 500 meetings with over 1,000 old Fiat 500 will be held on the first weekend in July in Garlenda.

In the village there is also a monument to the cult runabout from Turin.
