Garrett AiResearch

Garrett Engine Boosting Systems is a U.S. manufacturer of turbochargers for the automotive industry. The company is headquartered in Torrance, California, since 2006 a subsidiary of Honeywell International. Garrett spoke design offices and production facilities in the United States and Canada.

Cliff Garrett founded the company in 1936, which was known as Garrett AiResearch. Garrett AiResearch designed and built a variety of components, in particular for the aviation and aerospace industry.

After the merger with Signal Oil 1968 Garrett became a part of Signal Companies. Mid-1980s, merged with Allied Signal Corporation and became AlliedSignal with the business units vehicle and air and space technology. The Department Garrett Aviation was sold to General Electric in 1997 and is now one of Landmark Aviation. AlliedSignal united in 1999 with Honeywell where the line of business turbocharger persists to this day.
