Garrett Lewis

Garrett Lewis ( born April 2, 1935 in Saint Louis, Missouri, † January 29, 2013 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American actor, art director and production designer, the four times for the Academy Award for Best Production Design and once for an Emmy was nominated.

Life

Lewis began in the early 1960s, initially to work as an actor and had some roles in films and television series, before he began his work as Production Designer in 1978 and has since participated in the construction of nearly 40 films.

At the Academy Awards in 1989, he was first nominated for an Academy Award for Best Production Design was Albert burner for Girlfriends (1988). Other nominations for the Oscar in this category was followed in 1990 with Norman Garwood for Glory, 1992 Garwood for Hook ( 1991) and most recently in 1993 with Thomas E. Sanders for Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992).

In addition, he was nominated for an Emmy in 2000 for outstanding art direction by Charles Wood and Marc Zuelzke in Geppetto, the toymaker (2000), a production for ABC television.
