Garry McCoy

Garry McCoy ( born April 18, 1972 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia) is an Australian motorcycle racer.

Career

In 1992, McCoy in the class up to 125 cc for the first time to race the motorcycle world championship part. The first full season followed a year later. 1995 and 1996, McCoy won a race for each.

McCoys change in the class up to 500 cc took place in 1998. After initial problems with an injury came in 2000, the breakthrough with a win in the opening race in South Africa. McCoy finished the season after two more victories in fifth place overall. His curves andriftender driving style suited the former Michelin tires. The following years were after another injury in 2001 and moving to Kawasaki in 2003 far less successful.

Mid-2004 Garry McCoy in the Superbike World Championship and Ducati won the race in Phillip Iceland. 2006 McCoy was engaged by Ilmor SRT as a test driver for the new 800 - cc - Ilmor SRT X ³ and started with a wildcard at the last two races of the MotoGP season in which he, despite several laps behind each brought a championship point. He was also known as 2007 drivers in conversation, but was then replaced by Andrew Pitt and Jeremy McWilliams.

After a year break from racing McCoy joined in 2008 and 2009 with a Triumph Daytona 675 in the Supersport World Championship.

For 2010, he has no fixed starting place in one of the motorcycle world championships.
