Garth Butcher

Garth Butcher ( born January 8, 1963 in Regina, Saskatchewan ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who played from 1981 to 1995 for the Vancouver Canucks, St. Louis Blues, Quebec Nordiques and Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League.

Career

Garth Butcher began his career as a hockey player with the Regina Blues, for whom he played in the 1979/80 season in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. Subsequently, he was active for the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League until 1982. During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1981 in the first round as a whole tenth player from the Vancouver Canucks. After initially Butcher continued to play in the 1981/82 season for the Pats, he also gave his debut in the National Hockey League for Vancouver, for whom he played for ten years before he transferred on March 5, 1991 the St. Louis Blues was, for which he was for three years on the ice until it was released to the Quebec Nordiques in January 1994. Already on season end this Butcher left but again pull and gave it off to the Toronto Maple Leafs, where he ended his career after the 1994/95 season.

Internationally

With the Canadian national team Garth Butcher won the 1982 gold medal at the Junior World Cup. In addition, he took in 1992 at the A 's World Cup.
