Gary Caldwell ( born April 12, 1982 in Stirling ) is a Scottish football player. Caldwell, who mostly as a central defender - because of its versatile Einsatzbarkeit but also as a right-back, defensive midfielder and man-marker - plays.

Caldwell began his career at Celtic Boys Club, the youth department of Celtic Glasgow. At 16, he moved with his older brother Steven to Newcastle United.
