Gary Clark Jr.
Gary Clark Jr. (born 15 February 1984) is an American musician and actor, living in Austin, Texas.
In his own words by blues, jazz, soul, country and hip-hop influences, the fuzzy guitar sound is a distinctive feature of his music.
Career
Musical career
Clark began playing guitar at the age of 12 years. In his youth, he gave little concerts in his hometown of Austin. There he met Clifford Antone - the owner of the music club Antone's, which introduced him among other things with Jimmie Vaughan. He and other musicians from the music scene Austin Clark accompanied by his career. Getting more attention gained Clark, as he, 2010 at the Crossroads Guitar Festival on the side of BB King, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Steve Winwood, John Mayer, Sheryl Crow, Jeff Beck and ZZ Top played. In June 2011 and 2012, Clark performed at the annual Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tennessee.
Gary Clark took over vocals on the original of the Jackson 5 coming bonus track " I Want You Back " on Sheryl Crow album 100 Miles from Memphis.
In February 2012 he performed at the event Red, White and Blues in the White House. On December 15, 2012 Clark made a guest appearance at the final concert of the Rolling Stones ' Anniversary Tour in New Jersey and played with the Stones and John Mayer, the song Goin ' Down by Freddie King.
His international breakthrough came in 2013 with his album Blak Clark and Blu. Already in October 2012, it had been his greatest success so far in the U.S. and reached number 6 of the U.S. album charts and # 1 in the Blue albums. The following year, it was released worldwide, and was in many other countries in the charts. Particularly successful was the song Please Come Home, for which he was awarded a Grammy in traditional blues. Is not Messin With ' ' Round he also belonged in the category of best rock song of the nominees.
Film Career
2007 Clark played in the film Honeydripper the role of Sonny.

Awards
Clark has received numerous prizes and awards, such as the Austin Music Award for Best Blues and electric guitarist. Likewise, May 3, 2001 was proclaimed by the mayor of the city of Austin as Gary Clark Jr. Day.
