Gary Emmons

Gary Emmons ( born December 30, 1963 in Winnipeg, Manitoba ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player. During his career he played for the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League and the Kansas City Blades of the International Hockey League.

Career

Emmons first played from 1983 to 1987 at Northern Michigan University in the leagues of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. During his college years he received various awards such as the Rookie of the Year in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association in 1984. Additionally, he was selected by the New York Rangers ranked 16th in the NHL Supplemental Draft in 1986.

Emmons never played an NHL game for the New York Rangers. Just not with the Edmonton Oilers and the Minnesota North Stars in which he had also signed contracts in subsequent years. The Canadian ran mostly on for their IHL or AHL farm team. The game year 1988/89 he spent with the Canadian national team, and in 1990 he moved to Klagenfurt AC to Austria.

In October 1993, the Center signed a new contract with the San Jose Sharks after he had been since the 1991/92 season played for the Kansas City Blades, the farm team of the Sharks, and won in the first year the prestigious Turner Cup with the team. So Emmons came at the age of 30 years in the 1993/94 season in his first three and single inserts in the NHL. He scored a goal. Total to 1997 played Emmons continue for Kansas City and finished his career as the Blades player with most templates (254) and points ( 401).

After the end of his career Emmons joined the coaching staff of the Kansas City Blades, where he stood at the band in the 1998/99 season as an assistant coach. On February 21, 1998 his jersey number 15 was hung under the ceiling of the hall Kemper Arena, and has since not awarded to a player.
