Gary Hart

Gary Hart ( Gary Warren originally Hartpence; born November 28, 1936) is an American politician, author and journalist.

Hart sat from 1975 to 1987 as a Democratic Senator for Colorado in the Senate of the United States and participated in the primaries of the Democratic Party for president in part in the United States in 1984 and 1988. After he retired from the Senate, he worked as a consultant for the external security of the United States and gave speeches about the environment and homeland security.

In 2001 he received his doctorate at Oxford in politics. In 2006, Hart an endowed professorship at the University of Colorado at Denver. He works also on the board of the Council for a Livable World. He has written as the main and co-author of numerous books and articles, including four novels, two of them under his pseudonym John Blackthorn.
