Gary Hooper

Gary Hooper ( born January 26, 1988 in Loughton, Essex ) is an English footballer. Since July 2013 he is at Norwich City in the Premier League under contract.

Career

Southend United

After his early days when unterklassigen club Grays Athletic Gary Hooper changed on 10 August 2006 to the English second division club Southend United. His new club had risen in the previous year from the third-tier Football League One and expected from the talented attacker to strengthen its offensive. In two years in Southend but Hooper get only two hits in 32 league operations. During this time his club in 2007 gave it to Leyton Orient and 2008 for three months in the fourth division Hereford United. Particularly in Hereford, he left a lasting impression, but ensured his eleven goals in 19 locations with for promotion to the third division.

Scunthorpe United

On 1 July 2008 Gary Hooper moved for £ 125,000 to the English third division side Scunthorpe United and signed a three year contract there. As the undisputed master player him an excellent season came with 24 goals in 45 league games. His new club benefited from this excellent hit rate and qualified by a sixth place in the standings for the playoffs. After a win over Milton Keynes Dons Scunthorpe defeated in the final in Wembley Millwall FC 3:2. Even after the rise in the Football League Championship 2009/10, he could preserve his marksmanship and scored 19 goals in 35 games. His club secured at the end of the season just in the league in the second English League and also benefited significantly from its gates.

Celtic Glasgow

After his successful breakthrough in the second highest English league is Hooper decided at a further step in his young career and moved to 2,400,000 pounds to the Scottish top club Celtic in the Scottish Premier League. Celtic had to admit defeat in the last two years in the championship local rivals Glasgow Rangers. Under the new manager Neil Lennon the club engaged alongside Hooper, among others, Fredrik Ljungberg, Cha Du -ri and Joe Ledley other players in order to secure the championship. Gary Hooper got off to an excellent start to the Scottish Premier League 2010/ 11 and was able to achieve ten goals in his first eleven league matches. In the following season 2011/12 he won the Scottish Cup with Celtic and was achieved with 24 -goal top scorer. In the last game of the season he scored five times in the 5-0 victory against Heart of Midlothian what was before him only the two Rangers players Kris Boyd and Kenny Miller succeeded. In the season after, he successfully defended the title with the team where he met the opposing goal 19 times. At the same time he decided with two goals scored the Scottish Cup final against Hibernian.

In July 2013, the striker signed a three year contract with Norwich City.
