Gasa District

Gasa ( མགར་ས་རྫོང་ཁག་ ) is one of the 20 districts ( dzongkhag ) of Bhutan. Gaza is the northernmost, largest surface area, and the smallest and least populated district of Bhutan. It lies on the border with Tibet in the zone ( dzongdey ) Central. The district has a population of 3,326. The area is 4089 km ². The capital of the district of the same name is Gaza. Gasa Dzong is located at 27 ° 54 'N, 89 ° 44' O27.90361111111189.7272222222221932.

The district is divided into the main town Gasa Gasa and four Gewogs ( with population ):

  • Gasa (402 ) ( located in the northeast of the Goenkaatoe Gewog, but not part of this )
  • Goenkhamae Gewog (906 ) (Southwest)
  • Goenkaatoe Gewog (166 ) ( West)
  • Laya Gewog (949 ) (North West)
  • Lunana Gewog ( 693 ) ( East)
