Gaspara Stampa
Gas Stampa (* 1523 in Padua, † April 23, 1554 in Venice) was an Italian poet and courtesan.
Life
Stampa was born in Padua, orphaned early and was brought up with her sister and brother in Venice. All three were famous for their musical and literary talent. Stampa was very probably a courtesan, Cortegiana in the elevated language of their time, had several lovers and fell himself into the Count di Collaltino Collalto, a Venetian nobleman, who left after three years. Your Canzoniere, first published a year after her death, has traces of her tragic life. The work contains sensual love poems that are an authentic expression of feelings and passions of a tortured soul. Rainer Maria Rilke mentions it in his first Duino Elegy: "Have the gas Stampa / because enough thought that any girl / the escaped the beloved, the exalted example / these lovers feel: that I would like it "
