Gaston A. Robbins

Gaston Ahi Robbins ( born September 26, 1858 in Goldsboro, Wayne County, North Carolina, † February 22, 1902 in New York City ) was an American lawyer and politician (Democratic Party).

Career

Gaston Ahi Robbins moved to Randolph County ( North Carolina). There he attended Trinity College ( Durham ) and graduated in 1879 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1800 and then began in Selma (Alabama ) to practice.

Robbins also pursued a political career. He was elected to the 53 U.S. Congress, where he served from March 4, 1893 to March 3, 1895. Robbins was re- elected to the 54th and the 56th U.S. Congress, however, both elections were successfully challenged by Republican William F. Aldrich, so that he in the U.S. House of Representatives on 4 March 1895 to 13 March 1895, then March 4, 1899 until March 8, 1900, operates. He then returned to his legal practice in New York City, where he died in 1902. He was buried at the Oakwood Cemetery in Statesville (North Carolina).
