Gaston Serpette

Henri Charles Antoine Gaston Serpette (* November 4, 1846 in Nantes, † November 4, 1904 in Paris) was a French composer.

Serpette studied at the Conservatoire de Paris and won in 1871 with the cantata Joan of Arc by Jules Barbier the Premier Grand Prix de Rome. He was a well-known and successful composer of operetta in Paris with more than thirty works. He also composed songs and salon pieces for the piano.

For years he participated as a conductor in London and later in Algiers.
