Gauda (king)

Gauda (Greek Γαύδης ) was a son of Numiderkönigs Mastanabal and grandson of King Masinissa. Due to his physical and mental vulnerability, he was excluded from the succession of King Micipsa. During the Jugurthine War ( 111-105 BC), he made his claims and, after Jugurtha's defeat against the Roman Empire with the support of the Roman general Gaius Marius King of Numidia ( 105-88 BC). His son Hiempsal II succeeded him.
