Gauliga Berlin-Brandenburg

The Gauliga Berlin -Brandenburg was one of the top German football leagues in the era of National Socialism.

History

Starting in 1933, twelve teams played for participation in the German Cup, where the Gauligameister allowed to participate. By 1936, the number of participants was reduced by a team of ten clubs each per season.

In the season 1939/40, the league was divided into two seasons with six teams. The Gaumeister was determined between the two relay winners in return game. After a year, the league was re- merged and played in a season with twelve teams. In 1941, only ten teams were represented in the first division of the Gaus again. In the season 1944/45, the championship was canceled due to the war after the 13th game day.
