The municipality Gausdal in Norway has a total area of 1,190 km ² with a north- south length of 34.5 km and an east- west distance of 57.2 km. Gausdal has 6144 inhabitants ( as of March 31, 2013). The population density is 5.2 inhabitants per square kilometer. The municipality is located in the west of the central Fylke Oppland Gudbrandsdalen and is managed by the City Segalstad bru. Every year there are heavily infested chess tournaments in Gausdal.
