- Often halbtaktiger opener
- Usually at least two parts, which in turn comprise at least two phrases and repeated. The second phrase of each part usually begins in the middle of a stroke.

Gavotte in Breton music
As a folk dance and folk music genre, the gavotte in Brittany is alive, where numerous Gavotten ( Dañs Fisel, Gavotte de Montaigne, Kost ar c'hoad ) are an integral part of dance festivals like the hard - noz. With the Baroque Gavotte it has in common the two-bar structure. The rhythm is usually played syncopated four- four time. The Gavotte de Montaigne and Dañs Fisel are usually listed in a three-piece suite in a first fast part (sound simpl ) a slow walking dance ( Tamm - primary circuit ) follows, adjoined by a turn faster final part (sound doubl ). This has simpl same rhythm as the clay, but the second part of the two-part melody here is often extended by a few characteristic strokes.
