Gaza–Jericho Agreement

Called the Agreement on Palestinian autonomy in the Gaza Strip and part of the territory of Jericho, just Gaza-Jericho Agreement, also Cairo Agreement or Cairo Agreement was signed in Cairo between Israel and the PLO on 4 May 1994. It led to a clarification of the autonomy rights of Palestine.

This agreement is part of the Oslo peace process, it originated in follow-up negotiations on the agreed 1993 Declaration of Principles on Interim Self-Government the.

This got the Palestinians for the first time since 1967 selbstzuverwaltendes area awarded. Through the agreement, the city of Jericho and the Gaza Strip came under Palestinian control ( with the exception of Jewish settlements ).
