Gazeta Tema

Tema (or Gazeta Tema ) is a daily newspaper published since 2000, which appears in Albania. Editor in chief is Mero Baze. It will be printed around 5,000 copies daily. Tema is a newspaper critical of the government, which has an Internet presence since 2007.

In 2009, the appearance and persistence of the newspaper was massively prevented by the Albanian government. The car of chief editor Mero Baze was late December 2008, set on fire, advertisers were warned of further advertisements and the editorial building was a few days surrounded by armed police forces. As a reason for the police presence, the government called an expired lease in 2009 of the Editorial Centre in Tirana, which must be respected by the newspaper.
