Gebhardt von Moltke

Gebhardt von Moltke ( born June 28, 1938 on Good Werner village, district Breslau, Silesia ) is a former German diplomat and President of the German - British Society.

Life and career

Gebhardt von Moltke comes from the Mecklenburg noble Moltke. His father was the landowner and Ambassador Hans -Adolf von Moltke, (1884-1943), on whose estate Werner village he was born. His mother was Countess Davida Yorck von Wartenberg (1900-1989), daughter of Heinrich Graf Yorck von Wartenberg.

In 1958 Moltke began with the study of law and economics at the Ruprecht -Karls- University of Heidelberg. He graduated in 1963 with a study in Grenoble, Berlin and Freiburg im Breisgau and laid in the same year his First State Exam. Between 1963 and 1967, Moltke made ​​his clerkship, and finally the Second State Examination. In 1968 he arrived in the higher Foreign Service, where Gebhardt von Moltke in the Office of the Minister of the Foreign Office in Bonn was initially employed.
