Gee Atherton

George David Atherton ( born February 26, 1985 Salisbury, United Kingdom ), known as Gee Atherton, is a British professional mountain biker.

Atherton is successful, especially in the mountain bike disciplines, Downhill and Four Cross. He won in 2004 in Schladming ( Austria ) His first World Cup race. In the same year he also finished second at the Red Bull Rampage, which is known as free-riders. After numerous successes in international mountain bike events he came in the World Cup 2008 third place in the Downhill ( DHI). He won the 2008 and the downhill World Cup in Val di Sol ahead of compatriot Steve Peat and Sam Hill. His most successful year he had in the 2010 season. He won several World Cups and the World Cup and again he took 2nd place at the Red Bull Rampage, even though critics thought the second place would have been overestimated.

Gee drove in the mountain bike world cup together with his brother Dan Atherton and his sister Rachel Atherton to the 2011 season for the Animal Commencal International Pro Mountain Bike Race Team, which is equipped with bikes from the French manufacturer Commencal. His life as a professional biker and his two siblings is also shown in the short documentary " The Atherton Project" and aired on freecaster.tv.

Since the Saision 2012 Gee travels with his siblings for the GT Factory Racing Team.
