Geert Omloop

Geert Omloop ( born February 12, 1974 in Herentals ) is a former Belgian cyclist.

Geert Omloop began his career in 1997. Two years later he won the Omloop van het Waasland. As of the 2000 season, he then went on Collstrop. Omloop is a specialist in the so-called " fair race " criteria, which take place in Belgium as part of carnivals. In 2002, he then won the National Sluitingsprijs, his first major victory. In the Belgian Championship in 2003 he was able to surprisingly win the title, and the following year he finished second behind Tom Steels.

End of the 2010 season ended Omloop his career as a professional cyclist. He comes from a cycling family: His father Marcel, his cousin Wim and his uncle Henri Omloop raced bikes.
