The 456 m high Gehilfersberg is situated northwest of Rasdorf circular basalt cone and is part of the Hessian skittles. 1580 was on the tip of a cross, which was popularly known as " St. Gehülff ". 1656 Mountain is a document called " Hülffenberg ". From the 18th century is the Gehilfersberg one of the important places of pilgrimage Osthessens.

On the basalt cone was around 1630 the chapel " St. Mary and Fourteen Holy Helpers " built. The architectural style still expects to (late) Gothic, but can also serve as precursors of early Gothic Revival architecture. The chapel has two divided tracery windows, the Gothic origin are on. In the decoration of the interior is dominated by wood carved Baroque altar. To the chapel leads a Stations of the Cross with 14 station house. In 1996, the chapel victim of an arson attack, but was built in detail again the following year.

The forested mountain is used as a cemetery in the southeastern part of the forest.
