Geiranger

Geiranger (also Maråk ) is a place in Norway.

The place is located at the end of Geirangerfjord in More og Romsdal province and has about 300 inhabitants; in the summer months this number increases to up to 2000 inhabitants. The inhabitants live almost exclusively on tourism, there are next to the Hurtigruten ships annually to more than 100 cruise ships in the Geirangerfjord and thus in Geiranger.

Car ferries in the summer season from Geiranger several times a day by the Geirangerfjord to Hellesylt and Valldal.

The probably most impressive views over the village Geiranger and the Geirangerfjord you from nearly 1500 m high mountain Dalsnibba, which is reached on a gravel road with car, motorcycle, bicycle or bus. Car and motorcycle riders have to pay a toll fee of 100 Norwegian kroner.
