Geisel Privathotels

Hostage private hotel is a Munich-based private hotel and restaurant group. It was founded in 1900 and includes the hotels royal court, Excelsior, Anna and Cosmopolitan, as well as three restaurants.

History

The Geisel family began their employment in the hospitality industry at the beginning of the 20th century with a marquee at the Oktoberfest in Munich. 1923/24, Karl and Anna founded the restaurant hostage "Pasinger wine ". From 1924/25, followed by "For the Fraternity " and 1933/34, the " rgerbr " in Munich Kaufingerstrasse who became a favorite of the FC Bayern Munich. In 1935 the family opened their first hotel called " Hotel Rheinhof ". The following year they bought the " Hotel Excelsior " on the 1938, the "Hotel Royal Court ". In 1943, the " Hotel Rheinhof " was abandoned because it was too damaged by the war. The " Excelsior " was seized in 1945 by the American occupation forces and served as its headquarters. Three generations later, the vineyard and the wine cellar are under the management of brothers Carl, Michael and Stephan hostage. In 1995 they opened the " Cosmopolitan Hotel " in Munich- Schwabing, followed by their fourth hotel, the " Design Hotel Anna ", in the center of Munich on the Karlsplatz / Stachus in 2002.

The brothers Carl, Michael and Stephan hostage were awarded as " Hotelier of the Year " in 2008.
