The hostage is a tributary of the Saale in Saxony- Anhalt and namesake of the Geiseltal and the Geisel valley lake.

Course

The hostage originates in Santa Micheln, a district of Mücheln. The hostage source is called robbery source and was once one of the largest sources of central Germany. It arises from the overflow of water from a subterranean groundwater basin, which is below the limestone heights of St. Micheln. History
