Geisenbrunn is located about 22 km west from the city center of Munich, between Germering and Gilching. It is a part of the community Gilching and now has about 1500 inhabitants. The population of the town is rapidly increasing and will probably soon reach the 2000 limit. Geisenbrunn is just off the A96 and at the Kreuzlinger forest.

Geisenbrunn belonged before the municipal reform to the community Argelsried. This community existed until the annexation to Gilching in 1978.

Geisenbrunn has a separate village life. So in the course of the year various festivals are held. Among the biggest are the Dorfkirta in July, the Wine Festival and a festival called barn arson attack whose bizarre name refers to the authorship of the volunteer fire department.
