Gelendzhik

Gelendzhik (Russian Геленджик ) is a town with 54 980 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ) in the Krasnodar region of Russia. The city is one of the most important tourist and recreational centers of the Russian Black Sea coast.

Geography

Gelendzhik is located on the north-eastern Black Sea coast in the Russian Caucasus foothills, about 90 km south-west of the regional capital Krasnodar. The nearest cities are: Novorossiysk (31 km to the northwest of Gelendzhik away), Abinsk (35 km north), Krymsk (43 km north) and Anapa (71 km north-west ).

History
