Gelre Armorial
The Armonial Gelre (also: Codex Gelre, armorial Gelre, armorial of the Herald funds, Dutch: Wapenboek Gelre ) is a medieval crests.
It was built 1369-1396 by the herald Claes Heinenzoon and Heynen (around 1345 to 1414, see here). This led to the official name of Gelre ( German: Geldern ) because he was in the service of the Duke of funds.
The directory includes - in addition to poems and documents - about 1800 coat of arms of sacred and secular princes from Western, Central and Eastern Europe and their vassals. The Armorial Gelre is a significant source of older medieval heraldry.
