Road Bostra - Soada Dionysias
Wadi Zeidi
The Bridge of Djemerrin is a Roman arch bridge in the Syrian Hauran region near the ancient city of Bosra (now Bosra ash- Sham ). The bridge (now the As- Suwayda ) Roman road to Soada Dionysias belonged, crossed a few miles north of Bosra Wadi Zeidi.
The building presents itself primarily as an arch skeleton; his three round arches made of local basalt stone wedge shape pavement and filling in the spandrels are, however, disappeared - probably broken out to the local re-use. A structural feature represent both sides of the bridge tapered embankments, which should force under the bridge during floods in the wadi bed.
At least two other Roman bridges over the Wadi Zeidi have survived the time, the bridge of Kharaba and at At - Tayyibeh.
