Gemeinschaftshaus (Nuremberg U-Bahn)

Metro Station Community House ( abbreviation: GE) is the second subway station of the Nuremberg U- Bahn and was opened on 1 March 1972. It is 494 meters from Long Aquatic Centre Metro Station and 442 meters from the Long Water South underground station and is served by the line U1. In the beginning was the station long water - Community House, what the writing on the walls and platform signs still remember.

The Community House in Long water was opened as a cultural institution and meeting on 28 November 1968. There, different events take place and it serves as a meeting point for various leisure activities.

Location

The station is located in the district of Nuremberg long water and extends below the ground in northwest-southeast alignment between Heinrich Böll and Elisabeth Selbert Square. The two staircases lead, just like the platform located at the northern head exploiting dividend elevator directly in the pedestrian zone between the two places.

In the immediate vicinity of the station is the community house long water.

Building and Architecture

Construction of the station building began in 1967 and were carried out in an open design. The elevator at the north head was retrofitted in 1984.

The design of the station as a functional building matches the style of the 1960s. The tiled with ceramic tiles platform walls from the floor to the height of the platform edge gray and then to ceiling white, only the band with the stop names are green with white letters. The square ceiling supports are also white tiles.
