Gemlik (formerly Greek Kίος Kios ) is a port city and a district not far from Bursa on the Marmara Sea in Turkey, known by a black olive variety, with about 90,000 inhabitants.

The city has for centuries been constantly threatened by the earthquake gap that extends from the Izniksee along the ancient Ascanius River in the Sea of ​​Marmara.

History

The history of the city begins 630 BC The name Kios (Greek Kίος or Kείος KEIOS, latin Cius ) is mentioned in the Argonauts and of Strabo. Ancient City

Modern city
