Gemma Ray

Gemma Ray (* 1980) is a British singer.

Ray grew up in Essex and first began training as a travel clerk, but she dropped out to devote himself entirely to music. Since the age of 15 composed and sang her own songs. In 2004, she published with her backing band Gemma Ray Ritual Album Radiology, 2005 and 2006 Navy Blues From The Teeth / White Bait. In 2007, she released a song on the compilation Raw & Unplugged In New Cross. From 2006 to 2007, she suffered from an unspecified illness that forced them to long hospital stays. During this time, many songs and the decision to perform without a band emerged. Since 2008, she appears as a singer-songwriter on their own. In 2012 she released the album Iceland Fire. Ray's music is referred to as 1950er-/1960er-Retropop, which is based on models like Nancy Sinatra. Gemma Ray lives in Berlin.
