Gene Force

Gene Force ( born June 15, 1916 in New Madison, Ohio; † August 21, 1983 in Brooklyn, Michigan) was an American race car driver.

Career

Force launched 1951-1960 in 32 races to AAA ( from 1956: USAC ) National Series. His best results were three third places, which reached the 1959 in Sacramento as well as in 1960 in Langhorne and at the Indiana State Fair Ground.

1951 and 1960 he was also at the start of the 500 miles of Indianapolis, but both times could not reach the goal. In 1951 he was on a Kurtis Kraft 2000 Offenhauser still classified as 11, although he had traveled only about ¾ of Diszanz and thus received points for the championship. 1960 - nine years and several unsuccessful attempts qualification later - he parted with Kurtis Kraft - Offenhauser 500 by a brake failure on lap 74. Since the race from 1950 to 1960 was seen with the drivers' world championship, are also two Grand Prix starts in his statistics. However, points he could not obtain here.

He died in 1983 while visiting a car race of a heart attack ..
