General Alvear Department, Corrientes

The Department of General Alvear ( Corrientes ) is located in the northeast of the province of Corrientes in the north- eastern Argentina and is one of 25 administrative units in the province.

In the north and east it borders on the Departamento Santo Tomé, in the east and south by Brazil, separated by the Uruguay River, and on the west by the department of San Martín.

The capital of the department of General Alvear ( Corrientes ) is the General Alvear same name.
