General der Fallschirmtruppe

General of the paratroops was a military rank in the German Wehrmacht. It corresponded to the rank of general and was provided within the Air Force of the Armed Forces for the commanding general of a parachute corps or Luftwaffe Field Corps. The introduction of rank was made with the appointment of the commanding general of the XI. Air Corps and later Colonel General Kurt Student ( before he was General der Flieger ) on 1 May 1943. Similar rank designations were introduced by the Wehrmacht for other weapons genera ( including General of Armoured Forces, General of the mountain troops ).
